The Last Time [sic]

‘. . . this is the last time you tell me I’ve got it wrong’

Today was our last meeting in our IT Lab.

I realized that it’s amazing how we see, talk, giggle with some people and not knowing them that much. For six months, we’ve learned together and it’s just today that  we were finally able to talk in a casual manner. Having that Human Bingo- thingy made the class all active, friendly and interactive. ‘ Twas such a good feeling.

Sir Kevin G. Vega, you’re the man. What you did and shared to us a while ago was something. It gave us what we need, (especially today)- hope. You’re one of the quirkiest, funniest (?) and most admirable teacher I’ve ever had. With that, I am forever grateful.

Today marks the end of our last lab meeting. But it ain’t the last of our endeavors and pursuit.

Permanent Marker on a Blank Space

The Lab Diaries
Entry No. 12

It”s endless. Coding is a permanent marker that cuts through my soul. Yeah. A pemanent marker can kill you ryt

Who ever said we’re over with HTML? Obviously, we are not. And we’ve upgraded to the next level. HTML in online presentations- making them using HTML codes.

Booyeah. Learning something new feels good- most of the time. And don’t cha read between the lines. I’ve always want to find another presentation maker/tools. And yeah. I found not only one but three(?) new ways to make new presentations. Now, how cool is that?

Once again, you’ve shown your worth, IT. Now another thing to work on during weekends. Mehe. :3 Ja ne~

Collect Myself

The Lab Diaries

*insert Fall Out Boy’s ‘Where Did The Party Go’ tune* Oh. Where did all the weekends go? Nananananananananana~

My weekends are certainly fully-booked. IT1 has majorly invaded my weekly mini-vacation. I need to evacuate.

Le new HTML header

Anywaaaaay, we have tackled about HTML Coding last week. Now here I am, blogging about it. Hmm. What can I say? For a start, it was nostalgic. Because I’ve already tried it in my sophomore year in high school. Doing it again, made me oh-so-teary-eyed-and-captivated-at-the-moment revisit my high school memoirs.

‘Twas familiar at first and everything was going smooth. Then came the <nav>, <aside>, <section>, and all new tags sponsored by HTML 5- the fifth revision of the HTML standard.

It’s a good thing I found my way back in clarity.
To give you a hint of my ‘jejeness’ (except the Mythology page, ‘cuz I think that stuff is cool) way back in HS, here’s some snapshots from my HTML webpages. [A/N: I even have a space dedicated to Daniel Padilla like whu, I’ve really grown up] Feel free to snort.

“The two hardest tests on the spiritual road are the patience to wait for the right moment and the courage not to be disappointed with what we encounter.”

–  Paulo Coehlo, Veronika Decides To Die

(A/N: The quote speaks for this blog post & WATCH THE MOVIE IT’S A GOOD ONE)

CODING. All over again. It goes on and on on and on /♪/♪/♪

This week, we programmed using the C Programming Language in the Linux Environment. It was nasty and hasty. People who want to engross themselves in coding must be very patient and must have harmony with codes. It’s like UGH I’m neither any of that.

But just like what Paulo Coehlo said, patience and courage.

And here's the great gatsby proposing a toast for our future success (lol)

So, yeah. We’re finally coding a game! Whoop-whoop. It was thrilling and exciting. I especially like the part when I get to decide what to happens with the flappy character. Mine’s cool so you gotta see and try it now. *winks

From Reading to Writing

'The How To'

‘The How To’

Yep, we aaaare coding! It was cool and systematic. One wrong move could bring you down. Patience and comprehensive thinking must be practiced if you want to go all the way to pro.

Mitch Resnick, an IT specialist once said, “When you learn to read, you can then read to learn. And it’s the same thing with coding: If you learn to code, you can code to learn.”

Persons belonging to the new generation such as teens, tweens and kids are often referrred to as ‘digital natives’. We were born in this modernized era where computers could be considered as one of our best buds. We surf, blog, play.

But that doesn’t make us ‘fluent’. Resnick proposed that fluency does not come through interacting with new technologies but through creating them- writing them. Thus, coding.

And that’s what we are doing. I think this course justifies its name: Information Technology Literacy; from reading to writing.

Evanescence

We’re livin’ the dream.

Mehh. Sounds so cliché, right?

That term is widely used though in media especially in movies. Like the part where the main character gets to go to his/her anticipated vacation or when he/she has some money enough to buy Bill Gates’ properties- something like that.

And now, here I am, reminding you that once again, we are living the dream.

The past is the time that existed before the present (which is right now). Every second counts and with each of this, it carries the past.

People from the past lived like us minus the advanced technology and some changes. This made me think if they lived like us then, did they also wonder about the future?

Well yeah, of course the people in the 1800’s have the penicillin and others even at their own times. Computers were even present at way back.

But did they also imagine what it would be like for ‘really advanced’ technology? Maybe back then they were wondering about fast and easy technology in just a touch of a hand. Or playing instruments and games virtually. Or watching movies in 3D- all of which we are doing at this generation.

We are rising beyond limits of technology. Yet, it doesn’t stay the same. It transcends over transient times.

Our names may or may not be put in textbooks and encyclopedias, but we are part of the past- the past which carries and enables the future to be.

Absentmindedly, we are closing to a ‘lil bit of perfection. Therefore, even for a short while, we are living their dream. It may be short- lived but yeah, we are living THE dream.
